- When done right investing with others can present a lot of benefits to you as an investor, but it's not for everyone. And here are some tips that can help you have more successful investment partnerships. One, don't be a jerk, and don't invest with jerks. As simple as that. Make sure that everyone is on the same page about what is fair before you make the investment. If you can't get into an agreement about what each person deserves, and what each person should be doing prior to the investment, that's a very good sign that you shouldn't jump into an investment together. Two, focus on the big stuff. So the big stuff are what you should do with the project, how much do you spend on it, what kind of renovations, how much do you spend on that, who's doing what, and what should be the strategy.
