- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at Final Cut Pro X's file structure, or under the hood of Final Cut Pro X. So, when it comes to Final Cut Pro X, we're going to, at some points, I'm going to refer to some files as media files and other files as clips. And when I say the word media files and what's important to know about them in terms of video editing terminology is that these are the raw files. These are the files that have come from your camera or phone and exist on your system or on your OS computer. Maybe you've placed this in your Documents folder or maybe they are being referenced on an external drive, but this is where your media files exist. Now, these files remain large and untouched for the most part. Now, when you bring these media files into Final Cut Pro X, when you import them, these become clips, and these clips are references to the original media.
