The basics of color theory

- Color is everywhere and behind each color comes a psychological impact on us the viewer. This is why colorists spend time choosing the appropriate look for an emotional scene and why motion graphic designers allocate time to decide on a specific color scheme for a project. Whether animating text, a still graphic, or logo, putting thought into the colors you use can help convey your messages clearer to your audience. Let's take a look at some of the basics of color theory as well as some handy tools you can use to assist you in the process of sticking to color rules. We can divide a color wheel into three types of color, which is Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary colors. To take a look at this on a color wheel, now we can see here three primary colors, which consist of Yellow, Blue, and Red. Three secondary colors, which consist of Orange, Green, and Purple.
