Working with shape masks

- [Instructor] Like color masks, shape masks are available on almost every video effect inside of Final Cut Pro X and they can also be used, of course, in conjunction with our color correction workflow. For instance, if you just wanted to minimize color in the sky, which happens to be in the upper regions of an image, you can do so through the use of shape masks. So to see this, let's actually go to the color inspector. I'm here in my Chapter 11_9 project. And what we would like to do is really just make an adjustment to the shirt, specifically in the red region. We've seen this before done in a couple of different ways. What I'll do is I'll start off with a Color Curves effect. I'll show you a really cool thing here. I'm going to target the red in the shirt by clicking on the eyedropper and sampling the red. You'll see here, it samples that area of the red, to which I can kind of add more of a color adjustment. But it's in this case on my curves affecting the overall image and I…
