In Apple Final Cut Pro X ,when you start working with 3D text think about it as being naked. It is up to us to give it clothing and we do that by applying materials. A material could be wood, metal, fabric or even concrete. In this movie, author Nick Harauz demonstrates how to apply multiple materials to text in Final Cut Pro X.
- [Instructor] I'm here in my Chapter 2.6 project…and we've so far taken a look at the basic 3D text.…We've done a bunch of things.…We've changed the material, the substances…that are accompanied with the materials.…Such as distress as well as various channels…that we can add on to our text.…We've looked at changing some of the basic…automated animations that come with that.…But as we saw in the first movie, there was a custom 2D text…and there's also a custom 3D text.…This allows for customized automatic animation,…even more so than the basic 3D text.…
If I select my clip here in the Chapter 2.6 project,…and press "x" to mark it…and I select the custom 3D text and press "q"…to connect it to the clip and have it match its length,…I can come in here and first of all,…let's just change this text to something else…rather than "Custom 3D".…I'm going to go here to "The Cave" this time…just to switch it up a little bit.…I'll press the escape key and select my text.…Rotate it a little bit to integrate it within the scene,…
