- Motion templates and third party templates in Final Cut Pro X have a variety of controls that can feel daunting at first look. Understanding a bit more about how motion works, that we'll look at in-depth in next chapter will definitely help, but for those of you who are on a quick project deadline or are looking for a few pointers, this video is for you. Here I am in my 2.5 Keyword collection; I have double clicked my project. Now, a word of caution: what you see here in my timeline is actually a third-party template which you won't have access to. This comes from, I believe, the site digitaljuice, but you can find similar templates all over the web from providers that you can use in both Final Cut and Motion. Here's the template. Really, there are two things that you can switch directly in Final Cut. One is this area here called drop zones, which we could fill with both video and still content.
