In this week's episode, Jeff talks about voice equalization and how to analyze audio for harshness and fix it.
- [Jeff] Welcome to Final Cut Pro Ten Weekly.…This week we're going to talk about voice EQs.…Basically the idea that we're just going to make…everybody sound better.…We're going to talk about what an equalizer does,…we're going to roll off some of the bottom frequencies…as we analyze some audio, and we're going to find…some harshness and then add back some missing energy…and kinda compare the difference.…I want to take a look at the built-in…Apple equalizer though to start with.…So here I've got a sound byte in my time line,…and I'm going to go ahead and open up my inspector,…I'm going to take that inspector…and I'm going to make it full screen here…by toggling the inspector's height, and I'll just do…a Command + - here, just so we can see this one clip.…
Now, this clip has some problems detected with it,…what I'd like you to see is that there's a built-in…EQ here, and I'm just going to set it back to flat.…This is what they're all set by.…As we look at the Graphic Equalizer, we can see that…areas below about 100 hertz, they're considered basses.…
