Roles in Apple Final Cut Pro X are a great way for you to designate specific functions to video and audio clips. Can you call them up in your timeline to isolate a set of clips to work with? In this video, Nick Harauz demonstrates how to view roles and audio lanes in the timeline in Final Cut Pro X.
- In some previous movies we saw how we could create…roles for our audio and video in the browser.…In this movie we'll see how we can call them up…in our timeline to isolate a set of clips.…So I'm here is my chapter 5.5 projects…and this is the project that we've been working with…throughout the last few movies…and you want to make sure your timeline index is showing…so that we can see the video and audio roles…that currently exist in our projects.…Inside the timeline index had to Roles tab,…and we'll see the various roles that we have for videos.…
So here in the music lane I want to click this button…which actually makes the lane just above it…a lot smaller, so you can see that.…And just notice here you can do the exact opposite…with the dialog, notice how it now…squashes both the music and temporary sound…but you to isolate the type of audio associated…with the various role.…And this can make it very easy for you…to navigate between the various audio elements…in your Final Cut Pro project in some cases…where the storyline may not be working for you.…
