- [Nick] Hi, welcome to Final Cut Pro X Weekly. I'm Nick, and Jeff's not here this week. - [Jeff] Yeah, I'm not here. - [Nick] I'm going to talk to you about how and why to use roles in Final Cut Pro X, and the focus is on Video roles, as we're going to have another movie later down the line completely about how to use audio roles and all the amazing changes with them in Final Cut Pro 10.3. So first of all, if you're new to roles, roles can be a great organizational tool inside of Final Cut Pro X, and some of the key concepts we're going to cover about roles is to see the default video role assignments assigned to clips within your timeline, as well as within the browser. We're going to then be able to create our own roles and use them to differentiate between different categories of shots in a timeline. Say you wanted to know what all your stills were, or the motion graphic elements. We can easily assign them to roles and be able to find where they exist within your project timeline.…
