Undo and redo: The power of Cmd+Z and Shift+Cmd+Z
- In video editing you're going to make mistakes. Final Cut Pro X is well aware of this and has the ability to constantly undo various steps so that you can get your projects back to where you need it to be. Let's see how we can undo and redo operations while working within our project. So, I'm here within a project, and what I'm going to do is pretend like I'm accidentally going to delete the 5th clip in the timeline. So I would have the clip selected, and to delete, I'm just going to hit the delete key. And you can see that that clip now goes away from the timeline and everything ripples forward. Now, to undo this operation, it's a universal command. It's cmd + z. It's also available under the edit menu. So if I hit cmd + z, I'm going to undo that operation. Now let's take a look here at another operation. What I'm going to do is move this clip here, this Sony A7 clip in the timeline. I'm going to drag it in between the second last and last clip.
