Trimming to manipulate shot speed in Final Cut Pro X

- In this movie, we'll take a look at a couple of trimming techniques that will allow you to manipulate shot speed in Final Cut Pro X. We'll also take a look at Retime to Fit, which is the equivalent of Fit to Fill in Premiere. All right. I am interested in changing the speed of some of these clips, mostly the B roll clips here at the beginning. I have a little montage here of what's going on in the creative letterpress factory, and I've got this really nice, fast, jazzy music underneath it. Because the clips are in real time, it doesn't quite go with the style of the music. Let's take a listen. (fast jazzy music) All right. Let's just speed up these shots a little bit and try to match it to the beat. I'm going to go ahead and go to the beginning here and select my music, and I'll zoom in here a little bit, command, plus, plus. As I play this, I am going to press the m key to make a marker in my music track, okay? Then we'll have the beats to cut to. (fast jazzy music) All right…
