- [Jeff] Welcome to Final Cut Pro X Weekly. I'm Jeff. There's no Nick this week. We're going to talk about some Snapshots. And basically the concept is Snapshots are better than duplicates in a lot of uses and I want you to see how the work and when to use them. So a Snapshot is a special kind of duplicate and you use it every time that you go to do output or when you want to freeze the way a compound clip is or a multi-cam clip. Let's take a look. It's really common for me as an editor to duplicate my sequence frequently. In fact, I sit back and generally right click and duplicate the project at Command + D twice a day, in the morning when I start, in the afternoon. I make lots and lots of duplicates. There's a problem with these duplicates and I want to show it to you. But first let's do a little bit of working on this timeline.
