Slip and slide trimming

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at two trimming operations that still don't affect project length, but allow you to adjust and perform trimming operations in your Final Cut Pro timeline. These are known as slip and slide. And just like the roll tool under your toolbar, you can go to the trim tool which allow you to perform these operations. So we saw on the last movie that we could roll between two clips. That is, make one clip longer while we make the other clip shorter and not affecting our project length. The next edit that we're going to look at is slip. And slip allows you to edit one clip without affecting sequence length and basically just changing the content that's available to you from the original raw clip in the browser. All of these trimming operations that are available to you, specifically when you're lengthening a clip, are possible because a clip has handles.
