- [Nick] Hi, welcome to Final Cut Pro X Weekly. I'm Nick, and Jeff's not here this week. This week I'm going to talk to you guys about RED workflows in Final Cut Pro X. Now, some of those topics include downloading the RED Apple Workflow Installer, and this installer just allows us to see the R3D files inside of Final Cut Pro and allows us to modify some of the raw settings from the camera. We're also going to explore creating some proxies or transcoding on import, why we might want to do this and why we might not until after the fact of adjusting these RED raw settings. I'm going to take a brief look at wide gamut color, a feature that was introduced in 10.3 and is important for 4k ultra high definition workflows. And by having this access to a wide gamut color, what some people refer to as Rec. 2020, we work in a larger color space, and we can take advantage of that with an appropriate monitor as well as take advantage of that when our clips has filmed within this color space.
