The Pleasantville look

- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to take a look at recreating the Pleasantville effect, and this is also sometimes referred to as the Schindler's List effect. It's where you have a predominant hue or color in an image, and everything else is pretty much desaturated. So we've got two shots here in this chapter 5.8 project that we're going to experiment with, and see a few different ways that we can do that within Final Cut Pro X with the color correction tools at our disposal. I'm going to select the first shot here in my timeline by pressing c. We'll go to cmd + 6 to go to the color inspector. Where it says no corrections, I'm going to add some color wheels, and let's apply a color mask to this image by selecting the red pixels here in this man's shirt. So I'll come here to the mask area and we'll add a color mask. I'm going to click and drag to select the majority of red pixels within this guy's shirt, and then I'm going to shift + click and drag just on his shoulder to…
