- Hi, everyone, it's Ashley Kennedy back with another installment of Video Post Tips Weekly, the post-production tutorial series from lynda.com. And this week's topic is layering it up, working with adjustment layers in Final Cut Pro X. Now Final Cut Pro X has a lot of really great things going for it in terms of effects. There's so much that you can do to change the way your clips look. As of this recording, however, one thing it doesn't have the ability to work with is adjustment layers within the software. Adjustment layers are layers of transparent media that you place above your primary content in your project, then you apply various effects, often color correction effects to that layer, and the changes occur on all clips below that effect-specific layer. This way, for example, you can change the way all of your video clips look at once without individually applying the effects to each clip.
