Introduction to default transition manipulation

- Hi, everyone. It's Ashley Kennedy back with another installment of Video Post Tips Weekly, the post-production tutorial series from lynda.com. And this week's topic is Beyond the Dissolve, manipulating default transition behaviors. Now each NLE has a very quick way to add a default transition via a keyboard shortcut. And in each case, the default transition is the basic one-second cross dissolve. It makes sense that that's the case. After all, it's far and away the most common type of transition in the world of video editing. Sometimes, however, it's useful to switch that out and manipulate the type of transition and the duration of the effect, and of course, attach that to the basic keyboard shortcut reserved for the default transition. Fortunately, it's easy enough to reprogram that behavior exactly how you like. So this week we're gonna talk about changing default transition types and behaviors in Premiere Pro and in Final Cut Pro X.
