Importing assets from a file-based camera

- In this movie, we're going to look at importing file based media inside of Final Cut Pro X. So, so far, through this chapter, where we've been importing material, it's always been either from the desktop or from an external drive. We've had the option of either leaving those files in place, or copying them to the Final Cut Pro X library. But importing file based media is something different. So, in one example, what you can do is, certain Macs have the ability to plug in an SD card. And let's say that that SD card was originally in a DSLR camera, such as a Mark IV, and you're capturing movie footage. When you would put in that SD card, into the appropriate slot, if Final Cut was open, it would open automatically, and then allow you the option of copying that media directly to the library, leaving it in place.
