How Motion is meant to work with FCP X
- Motion is the best $50 you'll ever spend for this simple reason. Nearly all of your effects can be opened and modified in Motion and then become part of your Final Cut 10 library. Let's see how. Looking at the basic lower third and I realize that you know, I like it, but how can it change the font every single time? To be honest, it's kind of a pain. I'm going to modify it and save it permanently as one of these titles here. Before I do it, I just want to show you one adjustment I'm going to make. Here in the actual library, I'm going to the Inspector. I'm changing the storage locations. This is normally set to live in your system, in your Motion templates folder, which is inside of Movies. I'm going to put this in the Library, so it travels with this library. So anybody who opens this up, will automatically get this adjustment.
