- [Jeff] Welcome to Final Cut Pro 10 Weekly. I'm Jeff, Nick's not here. It's a shame because he's missing what a hard limiter does. This is a very common problem. The last thing you do when you go and output your show, whether it's to YouTube or anywhere else, you want to make you have no hard audio peaks, nothing up in that red area. And Final Cut 10 happens to have a compressor that gives a hard brick wall that's just below it. It'll still distort, but it'll never show up with those little red dots. It'll never get flagged. And this is being done by using a specific type of audio compressor, and it brings down the loudest elements, but a hard limiter's difference is it won't let the meters climb above a certain level. Now, it may not sound good, but I guarantee you there's no peaking for this. What I recommend you do is you duplicate your project, or you snapshot your project, and you take all your audio, and you take all your audio when you're finished, and you create a compound…
