Getting a properly toned image
- Final Cut Pro allows us to fix the tone or exposure level of a clip. While tone usually refers to the mid tone of a clip, it can also refer to the shadows and highlights in an image where we can also make adjustments. Let's see how we can do this in the (mumbles) of a few shots to change the way it looks. So I'm here in my chapter 2.2 project, and we're going to look at getting a properly toned image and try to see some corrections we can make with our various color tools available in the color inspector. Just to get a little more real estate of my viewer and the inspector here I'm going to close down the browser, and here's the first shot that we're taking a look at. To get a sense for the exposure as well as where my shadows and highlights are in the shot I want to press command 7 in order to bring up my videoscopes. I'm going to switch the scope as we've done before to a LUMA waveform and 'cause I like to I'm going to strip this of color. Make it monochrome from the view menu. I…
