- [Instructor] Welcome to Final Cut Pro X Weekly. This is Jeff. Nick's not here, he lucked out. This might have been one of the hardest ones I've ever had to record 'cause I need to talk to you about external GPUs, eGPUs. And all this is made possible because of Thunderbolt 3. We're going to take a look at what the external GPUs are. I'm going to show you some methods of observing performance even on your own machine. And then at the very end, we're going to talk about a spending decision. What's your time worth? In 2016, Apple came out with the touch MacBook Pro. That was the first one with the touch bar and it also happened to have Thunderbolt 3 on it. Here, we're taking a look at the back of the brand new Mac Mini, which also happens to have four Thunderbolt 3 ports on it. Thunderbolt 3 is another type of cable that attaches to hard drives and monitors, and in this case, an external GPU. And what makes it exciting is this is expandable.
