Apple Final Cut Pro X allows two types of ways to duplicate your project. One method makes a completely independent version away from the original while the other lets you make changes to compound clips that ripple through both projects. In this video, Nick Harauz demonstrates these differences.
- Final Cut Pro allows two ways…to duplicate your project.…One method makes a completely independent version…away from the original, while on the other,…if you make changes to items called compound clips,…it will ripple through both projects.…Let's see the differences in action.…I'm here in my chapter 7.6 project…in my chapter seven folder.…The first project that we're using in this chapter,…I've double-clicked to open in the timeline…and we're going to duplicate it…but there's one thing we should note about this project…that is that it has a title…that's contained in a compound clip.…
So, I'm going to go through the regular duplicate process…which is to press Command + D to duplicate a clip…and here you can see the duplicate copy.…What you should know about duplicate is…if I go into my chapter six project,…it's still in the timeline,…double-click to go inside the compound clip…and I'm going to now make a change to my title.…I'm going to double-click inside of here…and change this to my friend and the man in black.…
