- [Jeff] Welcome to Final Cut Pro Ten Weekly. This is Jeff. Nick's not here and if he was he wouldn't be able to hear it anyway 'cause we're going to talk about not detaching our audio. I'm going to show you just two or three quick little tips how to handle quieting a clip quickly. Key concepts are the common mistake. I want you to see the common mistake people make. I want you to see, actually, there's two common mistakes. I'm going to show you the best way to non-permanently silence your audio. I'm just watching another editor work and I'm never really critical about how people are different but this one happened to be pretty painful. I watched him to do the following thing they grabbed the clip, they went up to the clip menu, they said detach the audio and then they deleted the audio and I was just kind of there aghast because it's painful to bring this audio back.
