Cut, copy, duplicate, and paste
- Like a Word Processing application, video editing requires many of the same tasks. In a Word Processor you may need to cut out a sentence or word and paste it somewhere else within the document. In Final Cut Pro X you may want to select a clip, or series of clips, and move them earlier or later in your primary story line. In this movie let's explore shortcuts that allow you to cut, copy, duplicate and paste clips in your projects. So I'm here in my timeline with a series of clips and what I'd like to do is take this clip here, the second clip in the timeline, cut it, and then paste it to the end of the timeline. And I'm going to drive this all with keyboard shortcuts. All of these operations that we're going to do are available under the Edit menu. You can see here under edit there's a cut command-X, we have copy command-C, and a paste command -V.
