- Used correctly and under the right circumstances, transitions can help the flow of cuts from one clip to another. While Final Cut Pro X shifts with several transitions, Motion 5 extends those possibilities by allowing users to create their own custom transitions. Let's take a look. So, we're going to start a Motion project from scratch in this movie, and we're going to choose to create a Final Cut transition project. The duration of 15 seconds is way too long for a transition. Let's set this to be one second. We'll leave the preset at a Broadcast HD 1080, and you can set the Frame Rate as you see fit. I'll do 24 frames per second. Once we click Open, here is our Motion interface. I'll click on the canvas, and hit Shift + z just to fit the entire image here to the window. And what we have in a group is a transition A and a transition B.
