Creating an animated lower third: Part 2
- In this video, we'll continue where we left off and explore ways that we can fine-tune our animation and start to animate our text to finish off our lower third. Here we have it, where we picked off from the last exercise, where we animated a line on the screen using a Shape Generator as well as Final Cut Pro's Masks, and now it's time to animate the text portion. So I'm going to start by animating the name Melissa here. One thing I could do just to my text first of all is to compound it into a clip, or what some refer to as nest it before I apply the Mask. So I'm going to select the Melissa Hendricks text and go to my File menu, choose New, Compound Clip, and I'll call it MASKS and TEXT. You can see there that a Compound Clip gets added into the timeline. If I double-click it, I'm able to see the text contained within the Compound Clip. I'm going to click this arrow key to go back. And inside, this is where I will apply the Mask that I want to animate to the text, or actually hide…
