- We've got all the pieces connected to start bringing media into Final Cut Pro X. Let's start importing it through the drag-and-drop method. Now that we've created a library as well as renamed an event, let's actually head to our finder. I'm going to head to the Desktop to where I've stored my exercise files. One thing to keep in mind is if you have a lot of footage, you probably do want to save this on an external drive. You want to make sure that that external drive is fast. The better performance you have from that external drive, the better performance you'll have of being able to play back footage inside of Final Cut Pro X or at least one of the things involved in that process. Now, let's just take a look at some of the footage here.
