Join Nick Harauz for an in-depth discussion in this video Archiving and moving libraries, part of Final Cut Pro X Guru: Organizing Assets (2015).
- Libraries can be moved anywhere you like…on your computer or hard drive.…If you are backing up your work,…you need to keep a few things in mind.…Depending on how you chose to import,…and store your projects.…In this movie, we'll explore copying a library…over to an external drive.…This will consolidate our assets to make sure…everything is self contained within the library.…Then we'll explore deleting generated library files.…So I have my library here,…that I've been working with so far.…
The FCPX Organizing Assets.…We worked with this predominately in chapters two and three.…Where we imported a bunch of material,…and in some cases we left some files in place.…In others we copied them over to the library.…To make an archive copy of this…I have to work at the system level.…I'm going to drag this library onto my external drive,…making a copy.…Let's just do that first.…It's gonna copy over to the external drive.…I want to rename it so it's something different…regular than my other library.…
I'm going to just add the word archive to the end of this.…
