Apple Final Cut Pro X offers you three cropping options for clips: trim, crop and Ken Burns. While they might seem the same at first, they all allow you to adjust the crop of your image in different ways. In this video, Nick Harauz walks you through how to use these three cropping options in Final Cut Pro X.
- [Instructor] So, I'm here in my chapter 3.2 project…and just to recall, in the last movie…we focused on transform settings.…And how we accessed those transform settings…at the beginning was in the viewer…just under here, transform.…Just want to let you know, by pressing Shift + T…you can select the transform settings…just as if you press Shift + C…you can select the crop settings…which are the focus of this movie.…And those crop settings are just underneath…the transform, so the crop there.…Now, in the viewer, there are actually…three different types of crop…and the first one is trim.…
What trim will allow you to do,…is I'm actually just going to select a box here,…and you can see here that I'm trimming my clip…and over to the right here happens…to be transparency or black space.…So, just to give you a visualization,…if you had another video clip stacked on top here,…you would be able to, if it was underneath this clip,…you'd be able to see it to the right…because I trimmed this clip which…in that instance would be on top.…
