- [Instructor] Hi, this is Jeff. Welcome to Final Cut Pro X Weekly. Nick, sadly, isn't here this week. We're going to talk about something that has actually crippled me as an editor, text based editing. I early in my career got a chance to use some tools, particularly PhraseFind and ScriptSync in Avid, and they change you as an editor fundamentally. They make it smarter for you to edit. You can actually see and think in the actual text, and SpeedScriber does a lot of that for Final Cut X and does it at a pretty inexpensive price. I'm really blown away by it. The key concepts we're going to cover is just this idea of text based editing to Final Cut X. The software itself is free and comes with a 15 minute trial of transcription. It does transcription something like three to four times real time. So on the App Store you can download it, try it, and it's 50 cents a minute, and if you buy bulk minutes it's even cheaper and you don't have to wait for like overnight or a day. So... Let's…
