- [Jeff] This is Final Cut Pro X Weekly. I'm Jeff Greenberg. Nick's not here. We sat back, had a discussion, and here are 10 keys we wished more editors knew. We're going to show you a little bit about scrubbing and skimming. I want to talk about some transform controls, some quick editing techniques, the default effect command, and some better inspector controls. Final Cut Pro has this really cool red line. It's a skimmer. It's meant for you to quickly skim across your footage. The letter s turns it on and off. It's not the s I want to talk about, it's the audio. The audio as an editor personally kills me. (audio playing at high speed) Shift + s turns that audio scrubbing off which is way I prefer it in almost every tool I've ever used. And I just want you to know that you can hit that Shift + s any time you want in the source or down on the timeline. And you should also be aware that because the letter s is being used for the skimmer, the letter n is for napping or snapping. I'm…
