The importance of white balancing

- Hey there, I'm Robbie Carman. - And I'm Rich Harrington. - And Rich, white balance is one of those things that when it's bad, like this, it's bad. But you know, one of those things you can do in post-production, because of course you can fix everything in post-production these days, is that you push a couple buttons (finger snaps) and like that, hey, we're much better, right? - It's better, but it's more work, and sometimes it's possible to push the signal so far, that you have to spend a lot of time working on it. And it's just not a good idea. If you can get it right in-camera, all the better. - [Robbie] As a professional, colors, there's a lot of things that bother me about a lot of video shots, but white balance has to be the largest annoyance. Now sometimes, white balance is done purposely. You know, if somebody's doing a music video and they want an overly warm look, or an overly cool look-- - [Rich] It's the sad blue look. - [Robbie] Right, but that's intentful. They'll light…
