- After you have finished writing and revising your script, it is time to illustrate and flesh out your vision as a storyboard, so you can present it to your cast and crew. Everyone interprets a script differently. So a storyboard guarantees that everyone is on the same page. The very first step of visualization really depends on your skill set. If you have any drawing ability whatsoever, take out the sketch pad and give it a shot. Even if you're limited to stick figures, it will at least help you get started in blocking out the placement and movement of the characters in each scene. If you are like me and cannot draw, you might be served turning to previsualization software. There are many applications for computers, and tablets, and smartphones, that can help us previsualize our story, and make the structure strong and clear.
