Using hot lights and the ARRI kit

- This is the ARRI Kit, in fact it's my ARRI Kit. It's made by Arriflex. This is a very popular brand of lighting. These are the same style lights we've been using in Hollywood for nearly a hundred years. These are tungsten lights, also known as hot lights because when you plug 'em in, they get hot but also they have light bulbs in them with tungsten filaments. These are all under 1000 watts so they can be plugged into your normal household outlets. Anything bigger than 2000 watts needs special power distribution like you'll find on a sound stage or with a generator. Now this kit and these small lights are meant for working on location. You see how everything fits in nicely? Take a mental picture when you open a case like this before you start pulling lights out, so you can remember how they all go back in.
