Planning for transcripts of interviews
- One of the best things you can do for yourself as a Producer or an Editor, is to plan for transcripts. And what I mean by that is, if you have a lot of interviews for your production or you have perhaps actors who are kind of freelancing on their lines and they're not all locked down on your script, you are going to want a transcript to go through because it's going to be way faster to go through on paper and pick your best sound bytes or your best takes than it is to scrub through all the footage in real time. - Exactly, and there are two different ways that you can get the audio to your transcript people with the time code from the original tape. And one of the ways is actually to export the audio from the sequence, but make sure that the sequence doesn't start at zero. Most of them default at zero so you need to start the sequence at the time code number that your clip, which is in the sequence, starts at.
