- We live in a multi-platform world and I am frequently writing scripts for five or six different purposes, even though all the material comes from one core set of content. So you might find yourself in the same circumstance and need to plan for multi-purposing. So how do you do that? Well, one of the things you can do, way back at the beginning of the process, when you have your different audiences, for example, you might have three different tiers of audiences. You might have different ages of people, or people with different experience levels related to the content, or, for example, you might have different platforms. So one version of the video might be only two minutes long because it's for YouTube, and another version of the video might be four minutes long because it's going to be seen in a live viewing environment where you have a little more flexibility on time.
