Join Bill Dill for an in-depth discussion in this video Manage the work on set, part of Learning Cinematography: 2 Working on Set.
- In managing the work for the day,…I want to make sure that I prioritize the day.…In other words, I know what's important,…and I also know what's not important.…And if there are any problematic scenes,…I want to make sure that I note that, too,…so that I keep my eye out for that.…And I can't emphasize this enough:…I want to make sure that we have a complete scene…as early in the day as possible.…Make sure, and I try to make sure,…keep my eye on this for myself,…that you have as much urgency at the beginning of the day…as at the end of the day.…
I believe a lot of poor work in films results…from the rushing that happens at the end of the day…because of a relatively lax beginning of the day.…Start the day with excitement and urgency,…and maintain quality through the entire day.…
