Making your product shine with movement

- Adding a little bit more realism and flare to your shot can be easily accomplished by spinning your product or moving around it with your camera. You might think, "Won't all my "perfectly placed reflections start to move? "I spent so much time placing them "and getting those just right." True, but I want to show you how to keep it simple and avoid turning your set into a jungle. So we have this neat motion control turntable to spin our product today, but there are other ways to make something spin, like using or modifying a lazy Susan. Now, the surface we're working on is black glass, my favorite. If you've never heard of it or seen black glass, it's exactly what it sounds like. The glass on one side is black, either painted, or you can use velvet underneath and glass on top. You can achieve really cool results. And based on your camera's angle in relation to the plane of the tabletop, you can control the intensity, shape, hue, and saturation of the reflection. What you see in the…
