Efficiency advantages of LED lighting
- One of the main attractions of LED lights are their efficiency, those little diodes consume much less power and deliver more output. They are longer lasting, with some rated in the tens of thousands of hours. I still have my original Litepanel Mini from 2003 and they're still working, they're still working. The batteries have had to be changed over the years but the LEDs are still going. Now compare this to a halogen, HMI or fluorescent bulb, you almost always get longer lifespans. This efficiency translates into a longer useful life, which can be an obvious cost savings. There just aren't any bulbs to replace. Very often the only reason I replace or purchase a new LED light is due to improvements in technologies, I just want to stay up to date, or if one of my lights is damaged or stolen but never once because the LEDs wore out.
