Work with popovers in your layouts

- [Voiceover] One of my favorite layout objects in FileMaker is an object called a popover. I think it's a really cool, subtle UI effect and it was introduced in some recent versions of FileMaker. Popover is actually a style of a button that allows you to add a layout object to one of your layouts and allows you to work with fields, text, and other objects inside of the popover as it appears on screen. Now a popover button expands to display a popover object that floats over a window, thus obscuring the content behind it. Now it's a panel similar to Tab Control panels or Slide Control panels that can display any type of layout object. So really, when popovers are used correctly, they can be useful to allow you to add detailed information on a field or object where you might not have space on the layout to be able to place that information, or you could put them on a line item of a portal where you can show more detail about an object that doesn't fit on a portal row.
