What you should know

- [Instructor] I'm really excited to be able to share some tips, tricks, and techniques about FileMaker. But before we get started, I wanted to mention that this course is going to build off some fundamental skills that we've covered in previous courses. So if you're not familiar with concepts like building calculations or scripts, or working with relationships, or even the basics behind FileMaker Go, then I strongly recommend that you go back and watch some of the other courses. Specifically, FileMaker Pro Essential Training, Learning FileMaker Go, and even FileMaker Pro: Relational Database Design. Now keep in mind, some of these course names may be subject to change but if you do a search based on these keywords, I think you'll find the courses that you need. They will provide you with the baseline that you need to fully comprehend the concepts that we're going to be talking about in this course. I'm going to cover several core tools and techniques that will help make FileMaker databases more robust. I'm even going to cover sharing your databases on a network and even to the web. So if you find out that some of the early techniques sound too familiar, stick it out till the second half where I discuss sharing options in depth. I'll also have several movies at the end of this course that are based on techniques that I've never shown anywhere before. So please take the time to check out each chapter. They don't work in a progressive fashion. They all sort of stand on their own. So I promise that you'll find some real gems here, even if some of the early concepts might already be familiar to you.
