What are scripts and script steps?
in FileMaker Pro is the ability for users to create scripts. A script is a sequence of stored instructions that will allow developers to automate repetitive tasks or control how users interact with the system. Pretty much anything you can do manually or through the keyboard or mouse or through a menu command can be scripted and the best way to understand it is just through practical application But some examples of things that are very common from a scripting standpoint are navigation. You can have a button bar across the top of your screen allowing your users to navigate from layout to layout using the layout dropdown to navigate in your system. you can allow users to insert certain fields into records or you can assist them with certain parts of the data entry process. because reporting often involves creating found suds, navigating to certain layouts, you want to think about some of the things that you do everyday on a regular basis, especially your users on the various different…
