- [Instructor] In this video, I'm actually going to show you, a few different techniques. But first I'm going to start with a pop quiz. Look at this database here. It's a database of contacts and I've got a bunch different buttons on the top of the screen. These are actually layout objects that have a script assigned to them and as I click on them, you can see that what's happening is that when you click on a letter, it does a search for the contact's last name for that letter and when it encounters a letter where it doesn't have any last names, it pops an error. So the question is, "how many scripts does this take?" The answer, one! So let's first go on the Layout mode to understand how that works. If we go onto Layout mode, we see that we have all these individual buttons, as a matter of fact we see all the buttons listed here.
