Using layout-based triggers

- Layout based triggers are triggers that you can assign to any given layout in your FileMaker solution and the'll run an event or a script on the load of a record, commit of a record, loading of a layout, and a bunch of different other actions will trigger these. Unlike their counterpart, the object based triggers that we just reviewed in the previous movie, these are setup on the layout setup dialogue. So you'll see if we go into Layout Mode, over here with this little pencil is where you get to the Layout Setup dialogue. Way over here on the right are the Script Triggers for the layout. Now you'll see we've got a bunch of them in here and what I'd like to do is I've got this sub-summary report and if you remember, sub-summaries will only turn into grouped reports or sub-summary reports when they are sorted by the break field and that could be really tricky to keep reminding your users about.
