Using calculations to hide objects

- The object visibility feature allows you to hide any layout object by specifying the "hide object when" condition. This condition is defined by a calculation formula whose result must be Boolean. That means that any non-zero numeric result will cause the object to be hidden when the record is displayed. So basically you end up with a true or false statement that when true will actually hide the object. So first of all, what are we talking about here? Well, if you look at the exercise file, and you'll notice that we have this radio button here for product and service, looks like we're going to another layout, but we're not. And you see I select product and everything shows up again. How's that workin'? Well, we go into layout mode and first you'll notice that a lot of these objects have these little badges on them. Those are little eyeballs. That indicates that there is a hidden condition applied. So if we select one of them, go into our inspector, and go over to the fourth tab over,…
