- [Instructor] There are various different reasons why you might want to create layouts and or reports in your FileMaker custom app, but whenever you're creating a new layout you're going to want to make a decision on whether or not you want to see all your data on screen or if you want to just see certain different fields. And when you do that you're going to be able to create those only in Layout Mode. So if we go into View and Layout Mode this is where you're going to want to create a new layout and report. And you can do so by hitting this button here in the upper left hand corner or you can also go under the Layout menu and choose New Layout/Report or the corresponding quick key that you see there. So I'm going to hit the button for New Layout and Report and now you see that the layout builder interface is popping up on screen for us to guide us through that process.
