Understanding other iOS app URL schemes

- [Instructor] So we've established that FileMaker has its own URL scheme, the FMP URL which allows other applications, or frankly, FileMaker files themselves to send instructions to hosted FileMaker files or even files that are not hosted. Not only can it send instructions, but it can call a script and pass it variables. Pretty exciting stuff. Now, the good news is that there are other iOS apps that also support URL schemes and have their own. For example, if you look at some of the native Apple apps, they have supported URL schemes. So if we look at the Mail app, for example, you'll see that we have support for URL schemes. You might already be familiar with Mail, too, but did you know that you can also indicate a carbon copy or a subject, or the body of an email? How about with a phone, you can actually dial the phone through a custom URL which is Telefoner, tel colon. FaceTime has a similar one. You can send text…
