Understanding the FMP URL scheme
- [Cris Ippolite] In this video, I want to introduce you to one of my favorite hidden features in the FileMaker Platform, it's called the FMP URL scheme. The concept is all based around the fact that there's this powerful feature inside FileMaker databases on FileMaker Go in particular, that allow databases the ability to pass data and then to receive data from other iOS applications. So, just like a plug-in can be used to extend the capabilities of FileMaker Pro on the desktop, something called an FMP URL scheme extends the capabilities of FileMaker Go by allowing FileMaker Go to use URLs to open and then pass data to other applications, and then the same applications can complete the handshake by passing data as a result of actions back to FileMaker.
