- [Instructor] Before you can start writing calculations, you're going to want to get familiar with the Calculation dialogue window. There's a few different places where this can pop up. I'm going to show you what these different windows look like so that you know what the workspace looks like that you have at your disposal. The first and most obvious place to start is to look at the Calculation field dialogue. You can invoke that by creating a new field, choosing Calculation, and hitting Create. You'll see that the Calculation dialogue window now appears, and it's got three different panes. The Fields pane over on the left hand side is where all the different fields are at your disposal. This icon to the right tells you what type of field it is. We've got text fields, we got summary fields, and the image that you see there is container, dates, time, numbers, and so on.
